Individuals commonly hold certain perceptions about themselves. People are sometimes known to overestimate or underestimate their own abilities and maintain a self-concept that does not necessarily correspond to who they really are. These self-perceptions can often be decisive as to how people act and on what choices they make. And, in turn, someone’s choices will influence how this person sees himself or herself. This interweaving of actions and beliefs on oneself is an ‘internal game’; the aim of the book is to describe and analyse such games.
