While the music industry has long been aware of the emergence of stream-ripping services, to date too little research has been conducted into understanding how they function, their business models and the reasons consumers choose to use them. This summary of research by Kantar Media and Incopro and carried out for PRS in conjunction with the IPO, is intended to begin to fill that void, to educate the industry and policymakers alike.
